About the Design Series
The Design Series introduced custom-inspired drums to a wider audience than ever. On top of 100% North American Maple shells for classic tonal versatility, these drums offer DW’s UV-cured lacquers and Mini-Turret lugs.

North American Maple Shells
Design Series shells are crafted with DW’s HVLT™ construction. The 8-ply shells (snares are 10-ply) feature 1/32” plies with grains alternating horizontally and vertically for classic maple tone and punch with healthy resonance.
Bearing Edge
Design Series shells feature edges that are precision-cut to both 45 degrees (toms) and 60 degrees (bass and snare) and tested on a flat stone for gaps.
Finishes
From hand-sprayed lacquer to satin oil, all DW kits can be customized with finishes to make it yours.
Gloss Lacquer
Hand-sprayed, wet sanded, and hand-rubbed finishes that enhance the natural beauty of wood grain through elegant gloss finishes.
Shell Sizes

Lugs / Colors
The Design Series® features a scaled down, low-mass mini-turret version of the iconic turret lug. Design Series hardware is available exclusively in Chrome.
